Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino says that Manchester City deserved to win the Premier League title.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has offered his congratulations to Manchester City for winning this season's Premier League title.

City defeated Pochettino's Spurs 3-1 on Saturday evening before West Bromwich Albion's shock win at Manchester United confirmed them as champions the following day.

"I want to congratulate Pep Guardiola and all the coaching staff and players. I think they deserve the title and they are the best team in the Premier League and that is why I want to congratulate them," Pochettino told reporters in his pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday's trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.

"They were the best of course and in football in a whole season when you are the most consistent team you are capable to win and I think they were the best team. To win the Premier League you need to be the best."

Spurs are almost guaranteed Champions League football this season, sitting in fourth place with a seven-point lead over fifth-placed Chelsea ahead of the Brighton match.
