Napoli's Maurizio Sarri: 'Manchester City good enough to win Champions League'

Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri says that Manchester City are capable of winning the Champions League this season.

Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri has claimed that Manchester City are good enough to be genuine contenders for the Champions League crown this season.

Pep Guardiola's side earned a third consecutive victory in the tournament in the form of a 2-1 triumph over Napoli at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.

Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus put the North-West outfit ahead inside the first 13 minutes of the clash, while Amadou Diawara pulled a goal back for the Italian club from the penalty spot in the second half.

City's best finish in the competition has been a semi-final spot, but Sarri believes that the team are now as good as Barcelona and Real Madrid.

When asked by reporters if Guardiola's side are capable of winning the Champions League, Sarri said: "Yes, I think so. They are an extraordinary squad. They have tremendous physical, technical and tactical qualities and if they can maintain their physical shape they could go all the way."

City sit at the top of Group F with maximum points.
