Roque Santa Cruz signs permanent Malaga deal

Malaga complete a permanent deal to sign Paraguayan striker Roque Santa Cruz on a three-year contract.

Malaga have completed a deal to sign Paraguayan striker Roque Santa Cruz on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old spent last season on loan with Malaga from Manchester City, scoring eight goals for the La Liga side in 30 appearances.

After being released by City earlier this summer, Santa Cruz received offers from a number of European clubs, including Bologna and Turkish side Kasimpasa.

Following protracted negotiations, Santa Cruz put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Malaga earlier today, joining new manager Bernd Schuster in southern Spain.
