Malaga to appoint Bernd Schuster

Malaga appoint former Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster as their new manager, replacing the outgoing Manuel Pellegrini.

Malaga have appointed Bernd Schuster as the club's new manager.

The appointment was confirmed by a club spokesman on Friday, with Schuster being brought in to replace the outgoing Manuel Pellegrini, who is expected to move to Manchester City.

Pellegrini's arrival at the Etihad Stadium has been delayed by compensation and unpaid wages, but that has not stopped Malaga moving to secure his successor.

The 53-year-old German has previous experience of managing in Spain, winning the La Liga title with Real Madrid in 2008.

He has also spent time at Levante and Getafe.
