Ex-Liverpool captain Jamie Redknapp has urged his former club to re-sign free agent Michael Owen.
Owen scored 158 goals for the Reds and Redknapp believes that Liverpool must sign Owen to replace the departed Andy Carroll.
"If I was them the first thing I would do is go and get Michael Owen now," Redknapp told Sky Sports. "He is free agent. They need to do something because at the moment there are real problems for Brendan."
Liverpool recently missed out in their bid to sign forward Clint Dempsey, who joined Tottenham Hotspur.
Owen has also been strongly linked with a move to Stoke.
