Liverpool transfer news: Tsimikas deal close, Brewster game time, new contract for Williams

Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Liverpool on Monday, August 10.

Liverpool's 2019-20 campaign has now drawn to a close, and the Reds are now looking for ways to bolster their squad ahead of their title defence next season.

Jurgen Klopp's men dominated the most recent campaign and stormed to their first English top-flight title in 30 years, and Liverpool will be aiming for a repeat of their success next time around.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Anfield.

Monday morning's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup:

Kostas Tsimikas 'primed to become Liverpool's first summer signing'

Olympiacos defender Kostas Tsimikas has reportedly garnered attention from several sides following his performances for the Greek Super League champions this term.

Liverpool are said to be in the new market for a new left-back to provide cover to Andrew Robertson, and the Reds have supposedly turned their efforts towards a deal for Tsimikas after being rebuffed by Norwich City in their pursuit of Jamal Lewis.

According to Goal, Liverpool have successfully fended off interest from Leicester City for Tsimikas, who is set to put pen to paper on a long-term deal at Anfield after undergoing a medical this week.

The left-back came through the youth system at Olympiacos and has made 84 appearances for the Greek giants in all competitions, including 45 in all competitions during the 2019-20 campaign.

Rhian Brewster 'to get first-team chance at Liverpool'

Twenty-year-old striker Rhian Brewster has been tipped to become a success at Anfield, and the Englishman contributed 11 goals from 22 appearances at Swansea City during his short-term loan spell in South Wales.

The forward's strong form in the Championship could supposedly lead Brewster to seek out loan spells at Premier League clubs for the 2020-21 campaign.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Klopp is ready to reward Brewster with more first-team opportunities next season, and the England Under-21 international will be closely watched by the Liverpool manager during pre-season.

The report claims that Liverpool are unlikely to make any big-money signings in the current financial climate, and Klopp is therefore open to the idea of Brewster acting as a backup to Liverpool's formidable attacking stars.

Neco Williams 'in line for new five-year Liverpool deal'

Teenage protege Neco Williams enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with the Premier League champions in the most recent season, ultimately ending the season with 11 appearances in all competitions, including six in the Premier League.

The Wales Under-19 international will see his current deal at Anfield expire next summer, but Klopp supposedly wants to tie Williams down to a new contract at Anfield as a matter of priority.

According to Goal, the Liverpool manager has been highly impressed by the teenager's development this season, and Klopp is ready to hand Williams a new five-year contract until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

The report claims that the Welshman can expect to receive a significant wage increase with the Premier League champions, and Klopp is prepared to rotate Williams and Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right-hand side of defence next season.
