Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Schalke 04 centre-back Malick Thiaw.
The 18-year-old, who stands at 6ft 3in, made his Bundesliga debut against Hoffenheim on March 7.
The German spent time with both Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach during his youth career but has keen with Schalke since 2015, progressing through the various youth sides into the first team.
According to The Mirror, Liverpool scouts have been monitoring the teenager's development as his contract at the Veltins-Arena is due to expire in the summer of 2021.
The report claims that Jurgen Klopp's side are attempting to agree a £7m move before Thiaw potentially signs a new deal with a bigger release clause.
The Merseyside giants have also reportedly joined the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the race to sign Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.
