Liverpool have reportedly already identified where they wish to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window.
Unlike many of their rivals in the Premier League and on the continent, Liverpool endured a quiet period during the summer's equivalent.
With regards to this campaign, only Juventus forward Federico Chiesa was added to the group, with a deal for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili completed with 2025-26 in mind.
That has not stopped Arne Slot's side enjoying a strong start to the season, recording three successive wins with clean sheets before Saturday's 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest.
Supporters will argue that extending the contracts of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah should be the priorities of the club's board.
While that may be the case, Football Insider suggests that two positions on the pitch are being viewed as issues that need resolving at the turn of the year.

What two positions are Liverpool looking at?
Slot and club officials would reportedly like to see a new left-sided centre-back and central-midfielder arrive at Anfield before the end of the first month in 2025.
That had been the case during the previous market, but Liverpool were not able to finalise a deal where the terms suited all parties.
Liverpool had pressed hard to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, only to be turned down by the Euro 2024 winner with Spain.
Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister have since been used as the two deep-lying playmakers by Slot, being preferred to a more defensive-minded option such as Wataru Endo.
Nevertheless, with Stefan Bajcetic having gone out on loan, it appears that Slot wants to bring in a more industrious player.

Centre-back a bigger priority?
Everyone associated with Liverpool hopes the towering presence of Van Dijk will remain in the backline until at least the end of 2025-26.
That said, the Netherlands international will then be nearly 35 years of age, making it imperative that extra competition is eventually secured.
Ibrahima Konate has had his injury issues, Jarell Quansah is yet to win over Slot and Joe Gomez has been linked with a move away from Merseyside.
