Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana has admitted that he has aspirations of playing in the Champion's League and competing for the Premier League title amid reported interest from Liverpool.
The England international has enjoyed a fine season for the Saints and has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield.
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool believe that a £20m deal could be wrapped up as early as next week.
"I'm ambitious. I want to one day play in the Champions League and compete for the Premier League title," Lallana told the club's matchday programme ahead of their game against Manchester United.
"I got emotional (at the club's end of season awards) because it's a journey I couldn't have dreamed of but I'm not saying this is the end by any means.
"There are going to be some decisions to make in the summer and maybe it all hit home a little bit when I was speaking. Every fan would realise there is big potential in our team and we have players who can go and play at a higher level."
Lallana is widely expected to be named in Roy Hodgson's England squad on Monday for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.
