Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier has told Adam Lallana to reject a summer move to Liverpool in order to play regular first-team football.
The Saints captain's performances this season have not only caught the eye of England manager Roy Hodgson, but have seen the midfielder heavily linked with a move to the Premier League high flyers.
However, Le Tissier has warned Lallana that a move to Anfield may not be good for his long-term prospects.
He told The Mirror: "If a team that are in the Champions League are coming in for him, and that's something he feels he maybe can't do at Southampton, then that might change things.
"Liverpool will have a big squad. The question is, does he want to play football every week as he does at Southampton?
"Or does he want to go and be part of a squad and probably not play every week?"
Lallana has scored 12 goals for the Saints this season.
