Manchester City have turned their attention to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez after cooling interest in main target Edinson Cavani, according to reports.
City look likely to miss out on the Napoli striker after it was revealed that they are unwilling to match the £53.6m price tag.
New City manager Manuel Pellegrini is now looking elsewhere and Suarez is believed to be top of the list. However, the sticking point for City is the Uruguayan's desire to leave England.
The Citizens are willing to offer £35m for the forward, who appeals to City as he is already proven in the Premier League.
There is likely to be competition, though, with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Napoli all reported to be keen on a move for Suarez this summer.
