Barcelona have reportedly made an offer for Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini.
The 24-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for his Italian club, scoring 11 times and registering nine assists in 47 appearances in all competitions.
Pellegrini's contract in Rome is due to expire next June, though, and Liverpool continue to be credited with an interest during this summer's transfer window.
The Reds have allegedly made a €30m (£26m) bid for the midfielder, as they look to replace Georginio Wijnaldum, but according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are also firmly in the hunt.
The report claims that the Catalan giants, who lost out to Paris Saint-Germain for Wijnaldum, have now approached Roma with an offer for Pellegrini.
The Italy international is believed to have a €30m (£26m) release clause in his current deal, but Ronald Koeman's side are keen to sign him for less due to the fact that his contract is due to expire in 12 months.
