Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has reportedly rejected the chance to join Barcelona.
The 43-year-old only made 14 appearances for the Old Lady during the 2020-21 campaign and will leave the club for a second time when his contract expires at the end of June.
Barcelona are believed to have offered the Italian the opportunity to join the club on a free transfer, with the Catalan giants seeking a new number two.
However, according to Sport, Buffon has rejected a switch to Ronald Koeman's side, as he wants to be the first-choice goalkeeper at his next club.
The report claims that the stopper is desperate to be a part of the Italy squad for the 2022 World Cup and knows that he needs regular football next season to be considered for selection.
Benfica have recently been credited with an interest in Buffon, who has also turned out for Parma and Paris Saint-Germain during a professional career that started in 1995.
