Team News: Mario Balotelli starts for Liverpool against Hull City

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers keeps faith in maverick striker Mario Balotelli by naming him in the starting XI against Hull City this afternoon.

Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is in the starting XI for the Reds' Premier League clash against Hull City this afternoon.

The Italian international caused controversy when he swapped shirts with Real Madrid defender Pepe at half time during their Champions League clash in midweek, which finished 3-0 to the European champions.

Meanwhile Jordan Henderson, Philippe Coutinho and Glen Johnson drop to the bench for Brendan Rodgers's charges, with Javier Manquillo, Emre Can and Adam Lallana starting at Anfield today.

Hull goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic starts a Premier League match for the first time this season after Steve Harper suffered a bicep tear against Arsenal last weekend.

Manager Steve Bruce has also brought in Alex Bruce and Robbie Brady in place of Michael Dawson and Andrew Robertson.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Manquillo, Skrtel, Lovren, Moreno, Allen, Gerrard, Can, Sterling, Balotelli, Lallana
Subs: Johnson, Jones, Toure, Henderson, Coutinho, Markovic, Lambert

Hull City: Jakupovic, Bruce, Davies, Chester, Elmohamady, Huddlestone, Diame, Livermore, Brady, Ben Arfa, Hernandez
Subs: Watson, Rosenior, Meyler, McShane, Aluko, Ramirez, Quinn
