Daniel Sturridge "gutted" by Liverpool defeat to Swansea City

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge describes himself as "absolutely gutted" by his side's 3-1 defeat at the hands of Swansea City.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has said that he is "absolutely gutted" by his side's 3-1 defeat at the hands of Swansea City this afternoon.

A brace from Andre Ayew either side of a Jack Cork strike was enough for the hosts to pick up a win that guarantees their Premier League survival, with Liverpool only mustering up a Christian Benteke header in reply.

Sturridge notably headed straight down the tunnel at the final whistle without acknowledging the away fans, but the striker took to Twitter after the game to thank the support.

The match was the first time in his last four Premier League appearances that Sturridge has failed to score.
