Brendan Rodgers backs Pepe Reina to make strong return

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is confident that goalkeeper Pepe Reina will be at his best when he returns from injury.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has backed goalkeeper Pepe Reina to regain his form when he returns to the side.

The 30-year-old Spaniard was blamed for a number of goals that the Reds conceded at the start of the season before being ruled out for the past month with a hamstring injury.

"I have absolutely no qualms about Pepe," said Rodgers. "He is intent on making himself a better keeper and when we have that we have one of the best in Europe."

Reina could return to the Liverpool starting lineup for Saturday's visit of Wigan Athletic in the Premier League.
