Sports Mole looks ahead to this weekend's Premier League encounter between Liverpool and Wigan Athletic.

Liverpool come up against Wigan Athletic at Anfield this weekend as the home side try to launch a winning run in the Premier League.

The Merseyside outfit have drawn their last three league fixtures but remain unbeaten in their last six, while the Latics sit five points above the relegation zone in the table following their 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will face Wigan coach Roberto Martinez, who was considered for the Liverpool managerial role in the summer but is believed to have cooled his desire in taking over at Anfield.

Liverpool are likely to start skipper Steven Gerrard, who won his 100th cap for England against Sweden last night. Luis Suarez, who has netted eight of the club's 14 goals, should lead the line and defender Martin Skrtel is expected to return.

Meanwhile, Wigan are likely to line up with a forward three of Arouna Kone, Franco Di Santo and Shaun Maloney.

Sports Mole says: 1-1
