Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he was contacted by legendary former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson to congratulate him for the start he has made to his Anfield career.
The Reds manager has overseen two draws and three wins from his first six Premier League games at Anfield whilst also seeing his side book their place in the last 32 of the Europa League and the semi-finals of the League Cup.
"Today I woke up with a short message from Sir Alex Ferguson," the Liverpool boss told Sky Sports News. "He told me congratulations for the start I have made, but the rest will remain private.
"I had the honour of meeting him a few times and of course, he is a role model for every manager in football and to meet him is a big honour. But he is a funny person and he is like a book of football history."
Klopp's Reds will meet Stoke City in the last four of the League Cup following Wednesday night's 6-1 hammering of Southampton.
