Swansea City boss Carlos Carvalhal compares Liverpool to a Formula 1 car stuck in traffic following Monday night's clash.

Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal has compared Liverpool to a Formula 1 car stuck in traffic following his team's shock win at the Liberty Stadium.

Alfie Mawson scored the one and only goal in the fixture, which ended the Reds' 14-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Swansea remain at the bottom of the table, but are just three points from safety as opposed to six.

Carvalhal set his team up to frustrate attack-minded Liverpool, and the manager's tactics worked as Jurgen Klopp's men failed to break through a well-organised defence.

"I told my players, 'Liverpool is a strong team. Like a Formula 1 car. If you put that F1 car in the 4pm London traffic, the F1 car will not drive very fast," the Swansea boss told Sky Sports News

"That's exactly what we had to do. Let them play in a way they don't like."

Swansea have won just five of their 24 league games this season.
