A dreadful error from Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker gifted Wolverhampton Wanderers the lead in their FA Cup third round tie at Anfield this evening.
The holders went into the contest looking to bounce back from their defeat to Brentford in the Premier League earlier this week, and began the brighter of the two sides.
However, a Wolves side that has only scored 11 goals in 18 top-flight games this season were then offered the simplest of goals to break the deadlock courtesy of a howler from Alisson.
Liverpool had already twice failed to clear their lines from a sustained Wolves attack before Alisson collected the ball from Thiago Alcantara's tackle just outside his own box.
The Brazilian tried to pass out from the back, but gave the ball straight to Goncalo Guedes, who took a touch before applying the simple finish.
An absolute howler from Alisson! 😳

The incident continued Liverpool's damaging trend of conceding the first goal, which has now happened in four of their five games since returning from the World Cup break.
The Reds won the FA Cup for the first time in the Jurgen Klopp era last season, but have gone out in the third round in four of their seven seasons as holders.
