Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Rangers.

Liverpool will be aiming to return to winning ways then they host Rangers in Group A of the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Reds drew 3-3 against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday after a patchy performance, but Joel Matip's late header did ensure that they defeated Ajax 2-1 in their last European match.

Andrew Robertson and Ibrahima Konate are unlikely to be available for Tuesday's tie due to knee issues, meaning Jurgen Klopp has very few options to change any personnel in defence, especially with Joe Gomez enduring a shocker in his side's 4-1 defeat to Napoli on the opening matchday of this competition.

In midfield, Harvey Elliott could return to the starting XI in order to provide a more creative influence, with club captain Jordan Henderson potentially dropping into a deeper role alongside Thiago Alcantara.

One area of the pitch where Klopp does possess plenty of options is in attack, with Roberto Firmino fresh off scoring a brace and Mohamed Salah looking much livelier against Brighton.

Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez were all only used from the bench against the Seagulls, with the former pair potentially joining Salah in attack against the Gers on Tuesday.

Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are long-term absentees due to muscle injuries and were not included within Liverpool's Champions League squad as a result, while Curtis Jones, Caoimhin Kelleher, Kaide Gordon and Calvin Ramsay are expected to remain sidelined for a little longer.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Elliott, Henderson, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Diaz
