Leicester City have reportedly attempted to beat Aston Villa to the signing of Nantes midfielder Jordan Veretout.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, while Liverpool are also said to have monitored him.
According to RMC, Villa made an offer of around £8.5m for Veretout but Premier League rivals Leicester have made a late bid of £10m.
The report adds that the France Under-21 international has agreed terms with Villa on a five-year contract.
Veretout has made 125 appearances for Nantes since making his debut in 2011.
