Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri excited for Premier League kickoff

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri admits that he cannot wait for kickoff in his side's Premier League opener against Sunderland at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has admitted that he is eagerly anticipating kickoff in his side's Premier League opener against Sunderland.

The Italian returned to English football for the first time since he was sacked by Chelsea in 2004 when he replaced Nigel Pearson following his dismissal in the summer.

Ranieri is confident that his side can kick on from their exploits in the last campaign, starting against the Black Cats this afternoon.

He told Sky Sports News: "I'm really excited to begin. I found a good group here with good characters. We are ready."
