Nahitan Nandez has insisted that he is fully focused on representing Uruguay at the Copa America amid suggestions that Leeds United are trying to sign him.
The 25-year-old is believed to be a leading transfer target for the Whites, and a recent report claimed that Marcelo Bielsa's side were in advanced negotiations with Cagliari over a transfer.
However, Nandez has said that he is focusing on turning out for his country at this summer's tournament and is not aware of any potential deal with the Premier League club.
"The rumours about Leeds? I heard, but honestly I don't know anything yet and I have my head in the Copa America and in reaching the goal," Centotrentuno quotes the midfielder as saying.
The South American is thought to have a €36m (£30.1m) release clause in his contract, which still has three years left to run, but the Whites are said to be hopeful of either reducing the fee or paying it in two instalments.
Nandez scored twice and registered three assists in 34 appearances for his Italian club last season.
