Leeds United have reportedly made contact with Huesca left-back Javi Galan ahead of a potential move to Elland Road.
The Premier League outfit turned their attention to signing the La Liga full-back after Southampton reportedly won the race for Brest's Romain Perraud.
Galan is believed to be a cheaper option than Perraud and Leeds hope to secure the 26-year-old for £3.5m, as he only has one year remaining on his contract in Spain.
Football Insider reports that manager Marcelo Bielsa has reached out to Galan to discuss what role he can play in the Argentine's side next season.
Bielsa is said to have laid out a detailed plan explaining the playing role and development plan Galan can expect when he arrives in England.
The Spanish full-back has demonstrated his attacking capabilities for Huesca, with only Lionel Messi completing a higher number of successful dribbles than Galan in La Liga last season.
During his two-and-a-half seasons at Huesca, Galan has scored two goals and provided five assists in 83 appearances for the club.
