Dave Hockaday looking forward to working with Ross McCormack at Leeds United

Dave Hockaday claims that he is looking forward to working with Leeds United forward Ross McCormack despite reports linking him with a move away from Elland Road.

Leeds United head coach Dave Hockaday has dismissed suggestions that the club will sell Ross McCormack by insisting that he is looking forward to working with the forward.

McCormack, who found the net 28 times in the Championship last season, has been linked with moves to Fulham, Cardiff City and Newcastle United, but Hockaday claims that the Scot is happy to stay at Elland Road.

"Ross is a Leeds United player who signed a four-year deal and has put it out that he is really happy here," the former Forest Green Rovers manager told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"The chemistry is right and when that is right for a player and he gets on well at the club and the club get on well with him, that's great.

"He's obviously an important Leeds player. But they are all important Leeds players and I am looking forward to coaching Ross and working with him."

Leeds owner Massimo Cellino insisted last week that McCormack would not be sold to a Championship rival.
