Brian McDermott bemoans lack of 'killer instinct'

Leeds United boss Brian McDermott says that his team lacked the killer instinct to dispose of Queens Park Rangers in today's 1-1 draw.

Leeds United boss Brian McDermott believes that his team lacked the killer instinct to dispose of Queens Park Rangers in today's 1-1 draw at Loftus Road.

Jermaine Jenas pounced in the closing stages of the first half to cancel out Ross McCormack's opener as both managers shared the spoils in West London.

However, McDermott feels that the three points were there for the taking had his team been a little more ruthless in the final third.

He told Sky Sports News: "You'd take a point before the game here, but as the game panned out it was disappointing not to take all three.

"We should maybe have killed the game off in the first half."

United, who remain 11th in the Championship table six points adrift of the playoff places, host Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road next weekend.
