The result has seen QPR extend their winless run to five matches, while Leeds have not won in their last three.

The visitors could have gone in front on 11 minutes when they were awarded a penalty for Richard Dunne's foul on Ross McCormack, but the 27-year-old attacker saw his effort from 12 yards kept out by Robert Green.

However, the striker made amends just three minutes later as his free kick deflected off Armand Traore before finding the bottom corner.

QPR struggled to threaten Leeds during the first half, but they snatched an equaliser on 44 minutes when Jermaine Jenas swept the ball home after linking well with Kevin Doyle.

The hosts started the second period brightly and nearly went ahead straight away, but Traore had his shot saved by Jack Butland with just the goalkeeper to beat.

Leeds debutant Connor Wickham came close to getting on the scoresheet with an hour played, but the youngster could only drill his powerful drive off target.

Despite the two teams failing to create too many opportunities as the contest wore on, Leeds almost stole the victory in the final two minutes as Wickham's awkward header was palmed away by Green.

QPR then had a goal rightly disallowed in stoppage time when Clint Hill was flagged for offside after smashing the ball into the net from close range.
