A report from Italy has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo agreed to join Juventus only after being turned down by Napoli.
The 33-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year deal in Turin, ending his illustrious nine-year stay at Real Madrid.
According to Corriere dello Sport, agent Jorge Mendes offered Ronaldo to the Naples outfit in the wake of their decision to appoint Carlo Ancelotti as their new head coach in late May.
The report goes on to claim that Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis snubbed the Portugal international due to the costs involved, which led to the player joining Juve instead.
Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d'or winner, will be unveiled by his new club on Monday.
