Half-Time Report: Paul Pogba fires Juventus ahead of Napoli

Paul Pogba's volley hands Juventus a 1-0 lead over Napoli at the halfway stage of their Serie A clash.

Paul Pogba's strike has given Juventus a 1-0 lead over Napoli at the half-time interval.

A bright start from Napoli should have been rewarded with a goal, but Jonathan de Guzman was unable to keep his composure as he fired over the crossbar after Marek Hamsik's deflected pass rolled into the path of the Dutchman.

After a sluggish start from the champions, they started to take control midway through the first half as Andrea Pirlo and Pogba saw more of the ball in midfield.

It was a moment of magic from Pogba which handed the lead to Juventus as the French midfielder used space on the edge of the box to fire a volley past Rafael Cabral.

Martin Caceres could have doubled the lead before the break when he latched on to a loose ball in the box, but Cabral reacted impressively to prevent Juventus from pulling further ahead.
