Domenico Criscito will not be included in Italy's Euro 2012 squad after being targeted by the police surrounding match-fixing allegations.
The 25-year-old defender, who currently plays for Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg, reportedly had his room at Italy's Florence-based training camp searched in connection with an investigation that has already seen two players arrested.
Demetrio Albertini, vice-president of the Italian Football Federation, said: "Criscito will not be part of the team that represents Italy at Euro 2012. His priority now is to clarify what happened today (Monday)."
"Although he has insisted that he has not played a role in any of this, he is very sorry to have got the national team involved."
Lazio captain Stefano Mauri and former Genoa midfielder Omar Milanetto were arrested by Italian police earlier today.
