Result: Lille 0-1 Inter Milan

Giampaolo Pazzini scores in the first half to help Inter Milan move to the top of Group B

Claudio Ranieri's Inter Milan moved to the top of Group B with a single goal victory away at Lille this evening.

The match-winning goal came as early as the 21st minute when Wesley Sneijder picked out Mauro Zarate who in turn fed Giampaolo Pazzini. The Italian striker showed no hesitation in sending a first-time volley past Vincent Enyeama in goal.

Eden Hazard and Joe Cole both had chances to bring the French side level, but on both occasions they were denied by goalkeeper Julio Cesar.

After the break Moussa Sow had Lille's best chance to score an equaliser, but he shot over when well placed.

The two sides meet again in the San Siro in two weeks' time.
