Steve Bruce has praised the character of his Hull City players after they survived the freezing conditions to beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor tonight.
A Stephen Quinn strike in the second half was enough for the Tigers to overcome their out-of-form opponents and climb back to second in the Championship.
"We wanted to make sure there was a determination about us not to concede. It was never going to be pretty on the type of night," Bruce told Sky Sports News.
"It was a horrible, hard evening but if you're going to be successful and win leagues then you've got to sometimes come to places like this on a horrible night and get something. That's what we've done."
Hull face Nottingham Forest, who have won their last five matches, when they return to action next Saturday.
