New Everton boss Sam Allardyce has claimed that his current crop of Toffees players have "outstanding character".
Allardyce will take charge of his first game on Saturday when Everton face Huddersfield Town, having recently watched the Merseyside club produce a memorable 4-0 win over West Ham United to signal the end of David Unsworth's caretaker stint.
"My job is to bring the team back to winning ways - as good as they played the other night. Tomorrow's match will tell me about the players we have at this moment in time," Allardyce told reporters ahead of the contest.
"I was so impressed the other night [when Everton beat West Ham] which shows what outstanding character they have."
Everton currently find themselves in 13th position after 14 games, five points clear of relegation.
