Igor Rossi signs new Hearts deal

Brazilian centre-back Igor Rossi pens a new contract with Scottish Premiership side Hearts, which will run until May 2017.

Brazilian defender Igor Rossi has signed a new contract with Hearts, which will keep him at the Scottish club until May 2017.

The 26-year-old joined the Maroons from Maritimo in the summer transfer window and has made 19 appearances for the Scottish Premiership side this term.

"I'm very happy to have signed a new contract, which will keep me here until the end of next season," Rossi told Hearts News.

Rossi came through the youth system at Internacional, but only made three league appearances for the Brazilian club before joining Maritimo, where he spent four years.

Hearts, meanwhile, have collected 31 points from their 16 league matches this season and currently sit third in the table, one point off second-placed Aberdeen.
