Bordeaux forward Diego Rolan has reportedly shelved plans to join Fulham as he instead wants to join a top-flight side in Spain or England.
The 24-year-old, who scored nine times in 29 Ligue 1 appearances last season, was said to be close to finalising a £5m move to the Cottagers earlier this week.
Sky Sports News reports that Rolan will instead delay committing to Fulham until the last possible moment, however, in the hope of a bid being tabled from a higher-placed club.
It is claimed that the Uruguay international has already visited the Championship outfit's training ground on a couple of occasions, but he did not agree to a switch.
Newcastle United recently emerged as a potential destination for Rolan, meaning that Fulham could instead go all out to land Cameron Jerome from Norwich City.
