Martin Jol is unsure whether to loan out Matthew Briggs or keep the left-back at Fulham this season.

Martin Jol has revealed that he has yet to decide on whether he will loan young left-back Matthew Briggs out to another club or keep him at Fulham.

Briggs, who is behind John Arne Riise in the Fulham pecking order, made five appearances on loan at Peterborough United last season and Jol is unsure whether another loan move is best for the 21-year-old.

"Matty needs games but I need cover as well," Jol told the Fulham Chronicle.

"In pre-season he's looked very good, so we will have to think about that in the next couple of weeks."

Briggs was the Premier League's youngest ever player when he made his debut at 16 years old against Middlesbrough in May 2007.
