Fulham manager Martin Jol expects to sell his best players in the summer, but he is confident that he will be able to sign suitable younger replacements.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has admitted that he may be forced to sell his best players in the summer, but the Dutchman is confident that he will be able to sign suitable younger replacements.

Tottenham Hotspur target Moussa Dembele had recently expressed his desire to play at a higher level, while Clint Dempsey and Brede Hangeland have also attracted interest from other clubs.

Jol, who sold Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov for big profits during his time in charge at Spurs, expects that some of his Craven Cottage stars will depart in similar circumstances.

"I am used to it because in Holland, for example, they do it all the time," said Jol.

"They sell one or two, and try and get even better by spending the money on younger players and developing again. That is what we are trying to do here.

"I can't, of course, have 16 players all worth £20 million, but I always try and create our own situation.

"There is a lot of interest in my players and that is why I must use my experience to find younger players."

Jol takes his side to Old Trafford to face Manchester United tonight and the 56-year-old recently revealed that he was glad that he turned down a job offer from the Red Devils eight years ago.
