Ronaldinho has departed Brazilian outfit Fluminense, just two months after joining the club.
The 35-year-old joined the Campeonato Brasilerio Serie A side on an 18-month deal in July, but made just nine appearances during his time in Rio and will now seek pastures new after agreeing to an exit.
"Fluminense hereby announces the termination of the contract with the athlete Ronaldinho Gaucho, amicably and by mutual agreement," read a statement from the club.
"Fluminense and Ronaldinho will maintain their ties and plan to work on other projects in the future. It should be noted that the deal met marketing expectations, increasing ticket sales, the number of shirts sold and commercial partners.
"The Ronaldinho deal also showed that Fluminense can arouse the interest of the greatest players in world football. Fluminense thanks Ronaldinho and wishes him good luck in the next stage of his journey."
Ronaldinho, who is a World Cup winner and has represented the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan during a glittering career, won the last of his 97 Brazil caps in 2013.
