The agent of Fiorentina winger Joaquin has said that his client wants to rejoin his former club Real Betis.
The 34-year-old came through the youth ranks at the Spanish club, before leaving for La Liga rivals Valencia in 2006.
He has spent the past two seasons in Italy with Fiorentina, but his agent Eduardo Espejo has said that he is keen to move back to his homeland.
"The player's desire has always been to return to Betis," Espejo told Radio Bruno Toscana. "At 34 years old there's a desire to return to his lifelong club, it's a choice made with his heart, not for money.
"Joaquin feels affection for the Viola shirt, and respects the fans, so it's a difficult decision. Last year he could have left, but he stayed because he's a professional.
"The situation is different now, he wants to go back to his boyhood club, and this is his last chance to do so. It's not about money, he'd be giving up a lot to go back home."
Joaquain made 51 appearances for Spain between 2002 and 2007.
