West Ham United join race to sign striker Fabio Borini from Liverpool?

Reports claim that West Ham are ready to rival Fiorentina for the signature of Liverpool striker Fabio Borini.

West Ham United will rival Fiorentina for the signature of Liverpool striker Fabio Borini, according to reports.

The Italian has been widely linked with a move back to his homeland to join the Serie A club in recent weeks, but it now appears that Slaven Bilic is interested in bringing the forward to Upton Park.

According to The Mirror, Bilic wants the former Roma striker to boost his attack for the new season, as fellow strikers Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia are currently out injured.

The report claims that Fiorentina remain confident that they will seal a loan deal with a view to a permanent move for the out-of-favour player, but that West Ham are prepared to match the terms offered by the Viola.

Borini made 18 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions last season, scoring just once.
