Feyenoord manager Ronald Koeman has warned Aston Villa that they risk missing out on Ron Vlaar if the deal is not completed soon.
Villa carried out negotiations with Vlaar last week but the deal has not progressed any further, much to the frustration of Koeman.
"They know what Ron costs, and yet a week later there has still been no contact," Koeman told Eredivisie Live.
"He is quite annoyed because he wants clarity. For him this is a good step, but it is taking a long time.
"It should be decided around this weekend or else he remains at Feyenoord. But I am assuming that he will leave."
Villa are currently on tour in the United States and are in no hurry to rush through a deal for the Dutch defender.
