Roberto Martinez: 'Ramiro Funes Mori could make Everton debut against Chelsea'

Roberto Martinez reveals that Ramiro Funes Mori could make his Everton debut against Chelsea.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has revealed that new signing Ramiro Funes Mori could make his debut after the international break against Chelsea.

The Argentine defender joined the Toffees for £9.5m from River Plate on transfer deadline day.

Despite a lack of experience in the Premier League, Martinez believes that the 24-year-old is ready to step up when Everton host the champions on September 12.

"I feel that after the break he will be ready to join the group," the Spaniard told the club's official website. "Clearly, he is going to need a little bit of an adaptation period because the British game is very, very different - especially for a player that is in the last line. But, in terms of being available, I expect him to be fully fit and ready for the Chelsea game."

Funes Mori made his debut for the Argentina national team against El Salvador in March.
