Everton players subsidise tickets for West Ham United trip

Everton players fork out £30,050 between them to ensure fans will pay only £10 for their away trip to West Ham United next month.

Everton players have donated £30,050 between them to help subsidise tickets for their away trip to West Ham United next month.

Roberto Martinez's squad have ensured that each of the 3,005 tickets the Toffees have received will cost only £10 for their fans.

Club captain Phil Jagielka is backing the move as a way of rewarding their loyal supporters.

"Everton fans' support is always magnificent, our away fans especially, and this gesture is to show our gratitude to them for their support throughout the season," The Mirror quotes him as saying.

Prices for away supporters at Upton Park are normally £55 for an adult ticket, while under-16s and over-65s are charged £32.
