Stuart Pearce reportedly believes that he will lead England to the European Championships and begins making plans for this summer's tournament.

Stuart Pearce is reportedly confident that he will be asked by the Football Association to take England to the European Championships.

The former Manchester City boss, who was named interim coach for the Three Lions' 3-2 defeat to the Netherlands in an international friendly last month, has already begun making plans for the upcoming tournament, according to The Mirror.

Reports have claimed that the England Under-21 coach has sent letters to a number of players who could potentially be called into the 23-man squad for this summer's competition.

The FA have yet to appoint a permanent successor to Fabio Capello and it is believed that the English governing body are waiting until the Premier League season is over, which suggests that Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp will be approached over the permanent role in the summer.
