Team News: Four changes for England Women for World Cup third-place playoff match

England Women manager Mark Sampson makes four changes to his side to take on Germany in the World Cup third-place playoff match.

England Women manager Mark Sampson has made four changes for his side's World Cup third-place playoff match against Germany this evening.

Karen Carney, Josanne Potter, Ellen White and Alex Greenwood all come into the team from the semi-final defeat to Japan, while Laura Bassett keeps her place following her heartbreaking own goal which decided the contest.

Germany boss Silva Neid has made five changes to her team from their defeat to the USA in the semi-finals.

Bianca Schmidt, Sara Dabritz, Lena Petermann, Babett Peter and Melanie Behringer all come into the team to take on the Lionesses.

England: Bardsley, Bronze, Houghton, Bassett, Greenwood, J Scott, Chapman, Williams, Potter, Carney, White

Germany: Angerer, Schmidt, Bartusiak, Laudehr, Behringer, Sasic, Peter, Petermann, Goessling, Kemme, Daebritz
