Michael Hector (Reading)
Reading maintained their unbeaten start to the season by ousting Ipswich Town 1-0 at the Madejski Stadium. Hector was dominant in the air and on the ground, also clearing one of Ipswich's efforts off the line to preserve three points.
Joe Mattock (Sheffield Wednesday)
Another side yet to see the ball bulge at the back of their net is Wednesday. On Saturday against Derby, Mattock was so close to winning it for the Owls but was denied by one of Grant's key saves.
David Cotterill (Birmingham City)
The Blues finally scored a home league win for the first time in 10 months by defeating Brighton & Hove Albion and it was Cotterill's driving run and cross that Wes Thomas headed home for the winner.
Tom Adeyemi (Cardiff City)
Adeyemi impressed on his home debut for the Welsh side, setting up one of the three goals as they inflicted another defeat on Huddersfield.
Bradley Johnson (Norwich City)
Norwich earned their first league win of the season and Johnson was the key, controlling influence in midfield in the victory over Watford. He scored the first of three goals with a delightful chipped effort from outside the area.
Jordan Cousins (Charlton Athletic)
The Addicks' last-gasp winner against Wigan Athletic was extremely fortunate, but there was nothing lucky about their opener - a rocket of a strike from Cousins.
Rudy Gestede (Blackburn Rovers)
Gestede has picked up where he left off at the end of last season for Rovers. On Saturday he was dominant in the air and scored both goals as nearby Blackpool were put to the sword.
Kenwyne Jones (Cardiff City)
Jones is having fun in the Championship and is now top of the scoring charts with three goals in two games following a brace against Huddersfield.
