Chelsea have reportedly opened contract talks with midfielder Mason Mount following Frank Lampard's arrival as new head coach.
The 20-year-old spent last season playing under Lampard on loan with Championship side Derby County.
Lampard was officially unveiled by Chelsea on Thursday morning and, according to the Evening Standard, his appointment has helped the club to persuade some of the younger players in the squad to sign new contracts.
Chelsea are said to be confident of getting Mount, one of their most promising talents, to put pen to paper on a long-term deal.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is also close to agreeing terms on a five-year deal worth £100,000 a week, it is claimed, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek is expected to stay on for the long term.
Mount joined Chelsea at the age of six and has starred on loan with Vitesse and Derby over the last two seasons.
