Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku in a "better place" at West Bromwich Albion

Steve Clarke hints that Chelsea loan striker Romelu Lukaku is "happy" at West Bromwich Albion and could stay beyond his loan agreement.

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has suggested that loan striker Romelu Lukaku could opt for a permanent move to the Hawthorns from Chelsea.

The 19-year-old, who signed for the Baggies on a season-long loan, has netted three goals for West Brom so far and while Clarke was originally coy on the Belgian's future, the former Liverpool coach has claimed that the teen is "happy" at the Hawthorns.

"I haven't spoken to Chelsea about what might happen but I speak to Lukaku and I know he's happy," said Clarke.

"He's in a better place now than he was when he came to us because he has played matches in the Premier League and has been a handful."

Lukaku has made three starts for the Premier League outfit.
