Federico Bernardeschi 'to push for January Chelsea move'

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte reportedly earmarks Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi as a target during the January transfer window.

Chelsea are reportedly lining up a January move for Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi.

Manager Antonio Conte is understood to be a big fan of the 22-year-old and reportedly tried to bring him to Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.

The Express reports that Conte will renew his interest in January as he bids to strengthen his squad ahead of an expected title challenge after they moved top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough this afternoon.

Bernardeschi joined La Viola at the age of nine and has come through the ranks at the club, but he is reportedly keen on the move and is willing to push for a January exit.

The Italy international could be utilised in a wing-back role at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea having won six games in a row without conceding since Conte switched to a 3-4-3 formation.

Conte is understood to be looking for a left-back, striker and central defender during the January transfer window.
